Invitation to join CASB delegation to Chongqing in Oct.

Dear CASB members and friends:

I am very pleased to invite you to join our CASB delegation to Chongqing, China in October 2002. It is going to be an exciting visit that may bring you great opportunities. In recent years, Chongqing, the center of western China, has developed rapidly since achieving its status as the forth Centrally Administrative Municipality (CAM) of China in 1997.

After the miracle of Shenzhen, Chongqing is expected to embrace its bright future as the primary focus of the state strategy to develop the vast western region of China. The Chongqing municipality government is taking big steps to further its development; over $100 billion will be invested in the city. Chongqing warmly welcomes overseas Chinese to bring back new technologies, expertise, management and investment in this cooperative setting.

The schedule of the visit to Chongqing is as follows:

17-19 Oct.: Meeting Chongqing government officials and potential partners, companies, as well as Sightseeing;

21-22 Oct.: Taking boat trip from Chongqing to Wuhan, visit the Three Gorges, Yangtze River; and continue discussing business with potential partners.

The local government will cover all the expenses during the trip.

If you are interested in joining the delegation, please complete the attached application form, and email it to me before Aug. 18. You may attach your project proposal, or email it to me separately before Aug. 25.

You are also welcome to join our delegation to Shenzhen High Tech Fair (Oct. 12-17). We will be organizing group-traveling arrangements from Shenzhen to Chongqing on Oct. 16. Please note that the dateline for the application to the Shenzhen High Tech fair is Aug. 10.
