Introduction
The Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers-Phoenix Chapter,
U.S.A., is a non-political and non-for profits association organization
under the laws of State of Arizona.
Objective: The objectives of this organization are to
promote friendship and fellowship among the members; to promote
the exchange of professional information and experience to help
member’s career development, growth, and success; to provide education
and service program in Chinese community and community at large;
and to promote science and technology exchange and cooperation
between the United States and China.
Membership: Membership is opened to all people who share
the stated purposes of the association, who are currently working
in the U.S. with at least a bachelor degree or equivalent. Student
membership is opened to all people who’s academic classification
maintains as full-time graduate student. The annual membership
fee for regular member is $15 per person, and $20 per married
couple. The annual membership fee for student member is $8, and

General Power: The activities of the Association shall
be managed by or under the direction of its board of directors.
The number of directors of the Association shall be determined
by the board. No directors shall receive any compensation for
his/her services as a member of the board of directors as such;
provided, however, that any director may, if authorized by the
Board of directors, be reimbursed for necessary expenses reasonably
incurred in the performance of his/her duties as a director.
Chairman: The Chairman of the board of directors shall
preside all meetings for the board of directors. The chairman
shall be elected by the board of directors and shall hold office
until the next annual meeting of directors, or until his/her successor
shall be elected and qualified.
President: The president shall be the principal executive
officer of the association. Subject to the direction and control
of the board of directors, the president shall: (a) be in charge
of the activities of the association; (b) see that resolutions
and directions of the board of directors are carried into effect
except in those instances in which that responsibility is specifically
assigned to some other person by the board of directors; and (c)
in general, discharge all duties incident to the office of president
and such other duties as may be prescribed by the board of directors
from time to time. The president shall preside at all meetings
of the association except for meetings of the board of directors.
